In the aftermath of the disastrous earthquake that affected the country of Haiti, Embry-Riddle Athletics is committed to aiding in the relief efforts for the Haitian citizens.  In addition to the athletic events taking place this weekend (Feb. 5-6), Friday has been designated "Haitian Relief Night."

To show support for and continue raising awareness of the global efforts being made, all fans are encouraged to wear red shirts to all of Friday's sporting events. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with the baseball team playing its first home game of the 2010 season against Brewton-Parker at Sliwa Stadium. At 7 p.m., the sixth-ranked ERAU men's basketball team tips off against conference opponent Johnson and Wales.

Since clothing is one of the items that the Haitian citizens desperately need most, ERAU will be collecting t-shirts at the baseball game and in the lobby of the ICI Center throughout the basketball game. Anyone who donates at least five t-shirts will have the chance to receive a limited edition "ERAU Haiti Relief shirt".

Both the baseball and basketball teams will be back in action again on Saturday along with the men's and women's tennis teams. Tennis starts things off with both teams taking on Florida Tech. Baseball also gets underway at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader against Brewton-Parker. Basketball wraps things up against conference rival and 14th-ranked Northwood in an "MTV Jersey Shore" themed night at 7 p.m.

The Eagles look forward to your involvement in this weekend's activities and are excited about joining with you in support of the Haiti relief efforts.
