About Embry-Riddle Cheerleading

Welcome to the Embry-Riddle Cheerleaders home page.
The cheerleading program serves a vital role in filling the atmosphere with spirit at Eagle basketball games along with numerous special athletic events. The cheerleaders’ primary purpose is to interact with the crowd generating enthusiasm and spirit for the Eagles. In addition to their role at ERAU sporting events, the Eagle cheerleaders also serve as ambassadors for the athletic program at fundraising and charitable events. The ERAU cheerleaders cheer at all home basketball games and select away games. The team also travels to the conference tournament and national tournament. The team practices two days per week and conditions 2 days per week. Athletes may be required to alter their Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break plans depending on athletic schedules.
As a team member, cheerleaders are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA or better and must remain a full time student with at least 12 credit hours per semester. All athletes receive priority registration when signing up for classes. Class schedules must be finished by 4:30pm each day.
The Embry-Riddle cheerleaders have also claimed success on their own playing field earning fourth place at the 2004 American Open Spring Championships, while the Ernie Eagle captured third place at the 2004 NCA Spring Nationals. The cheerleaders won their first state title at the Florida State Cheer and Dance Championship in 2008 in Jacksonville, Fla. In summer of 2009, they traveled to UCA Cheerleading Camp at UT where the cheerleaders received 3 superior ribbons and received third place in the sideline competition for the small coed division. At camp, Ernie Eagle took home the New and Upcoming Mascot Award.
