DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Senior Eric Lorenzi earned his second Sun Conference men's basketball Player of the Week honor of the year after leading Embry-Riddle to three conference wins during the week ending Jan. 17. Lorenzi turned in three 20-point performances to finish the week averaging 23 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, on 56.5 percent (26-of-46) shooting from the field and 40 percent (6-of-15) from long range.

The Eagles' first game of the week saw Lorenzi tally 21 points, four rebounds and two assists in an 83-70 win over Edward Waters.

On Friday, Lorenzi scored 24 points on 9-of-15 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc to lead Embry-Riddle to 75-54 road win over Johnson & Wales. The following night, the Gainesville. Fla. forward matched that scoring performance with 24 points in ERAU's 74-63 upset of third-ranked Northwood. He shot 50 percent from the field and made 11 of his 16 free throw attempts to lead all players in scoring and rebounding (9).

As a team, the ERAU basketball squad was also rewarded for its successes last week as they jumped 11 spots to No. 6 in the national poll released by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics on Monday. The Eagles are unbeaten in conference play at 4-0 and are 15-3 overall.

Embry-Riddle returns to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when they travel to Lake Wales to take on Warner.
