PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Eagles' women's golf ended their two-day, two-round tournament at the PGA National Golf Club in sixth place after firing a 315 on Tuesday for an event total of 639.
Senior Grace Jeong shot a one-over-par 73 in the second round for the Eagles; Jeong finished with a 162 (89-73) to finish tied for 32nd overall.
Carrie Rowe led ERAU with a 155 (78-77) for the tournament, placing her tied for 15th. Freshman Connie Pitenis (82-81=163) and seniors Teresa Sandri (79-84=163) and Albane Flamant (85-84=169) were the other Eagle scorers.
"Solid performance today, we're on our way to a solid start this season," Eagle coach Maria Lopez said of her team's play.
"Carrie showed great maturity and consistency. Grace showed her depth today and had a great comeback. Teresa hung in there and kept things level. Albane kept her fight yesterday and today. Our freshman Connie is performing extremely well."
The 13 team NSU Shark Invitational was won by host Nova Southeastern (297-292=589), who narrowly beat Rollins (300-290=590) for the title. Barry (305-309=614), Indianapolis (315-313=628) and Florida Southern (307-322=629) finished in the top five.
Embry-Riddle will next compete at the Flagler Fall Slam, Oct. 26-27 in St. Augustine, Fla.
